How Much Do New Recruits Earn?

When Did Nigerian Police Started?
The Nigeria police started its operations in 1930 as its own functional body. However, prior to this, the Nigerian police were under colonial masters. The security outfit has 36 commands spread across different states of Nigeria.

- Inspector General Of Police, IGP Salary: Just like I said, the IGP is the highest-ranked officer in the Nigeria Police Force. His office is more or less a political appointment. The IGP is not vote in, but is appointed by the president and the president is also free to sack him any time he/she wants.
However, the IGP appointment period is the same as the tenure of political office in Nigeria, and that is, the duration period of an IGP is four years. If he is not sacked, then, he will be in office for this period of time. at the expiration of this period, however, he must leave office and the president will appoint another person to replace him.
The IGP’s monthly salary is much more than what the other police officers earn. His Salary per month amounts to N711,498, while his Annual Salary is N8,537,976.
