The Children International School, Lekki, Lagos, is reputed to be the Most expensive school in Nigeria, right now. Although this is not officially stated, they have the highest and costliest school fees we have ever heard of.
The Children International School which is located in Lekki, Lagos State, is a privately owned school which is believed to be the most expensive school in Lagos state right now. The school is situated on Funke Zainab Usman Street, Lekki, Lagos.
The Children International School (CIS) is surely not meant or built for the average earning Nigerians since they charge their fees in Millions, Not just One Million Naira. This school have everything you need in a secondary school, as it have;
- Pre school,
- Nursery,
- Primary School,
- Secondary School,
This school have over 25 countries represented in the school population, However, since it is in Nigeria, the largest majority of pupils in the schools are Nigerians. The school follows a national curriculum of England, while children in the early years follow the national curriculum of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).





The school, Children International School caters for children between ages 21⁄2 years and up to sixteen (16) years where children sit for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and GCSE. This school as expected is built and equipped with the latest state of art learning facilities. The CIS also admits children with special needs.
The Children International School isn’t all about day school, since the institution also boasts of boarding facilities which include;
- Hostels with single or double rooms ensuite facilities,
- Two ICT suites,
- e-based library,
- Three state of art science laboratories,
- Two tennis court,
- Two full-size foot ball pitches
- Basketball court,
- Three special purpose music rooms,
- Full size swimming pool,
- and a host of other state of art facilities for conducive learning.
CIB opened in 2003 for its primary school section and in 2007 for its secondary school section. The school relocated to its own self-owned permanent site in September 2013.
The Children International school is run by a white man, Mark Mcluckie with the assistance of three Nigerian head teachers who are named;
- Mrs. Joy Isa (Headteacher Primary),
- Mrs. Esther Anozia (Head Teacher Academia),
- Mr. Chidi Nwankwo (Head Teacher, Pastoral).
The school boast a total of 78 staffers of which 26 are non-teaching staff, while 52 are teaching staff, with a population of over 600 students in a row between ages 2 to 16.
The primary section comprises a whooping Twenty Nine (29) classes from pre-school to primary six. Each of these classes is divided into three-four arms.
Getting admitted into this school is easy, however, it is not for an average family, because even those who considered themselves rich think twice before making their children, pupils of CIS as parents would cough out almost N10 million depending on your child’s age and class for admission.
The price range of getting admission into CIS is quite cheap, as the registration fee costs only N40,000 for both primary and secondary students. However, this fee does not guarantee automatic admission. Pupils of the CIS academic institution would be assessed to make sure they fit into the class, if successful, such a pupil would be assigned to a class and sport house where they start their academic life.
Successful candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of N2 million as an acceptance fee, after which other processes, which include submission of medical reports and all other formalises would take place.
For candidates/pupils who are admitted into preschool at CIS, parents are required and expected (Must) pay a whooping sum of N4.5 million per annum. Pupils of nursery and reception pay N4.7 million per annum, and primary 1-6 pay N5.5 million per annum.
Students of the Children International School who are going to the secondary school (Day students) are required to pay the sum of N6.4 million Naira, while parents of boarding house students are expected to pay the sum of N8.9 million Naira.
Please take note that all the CIS school fees must be paid in full, at latest two weeks after resumption, because failure to pay the fee within the deadline would attract 10 per cent outstanding payment of the total sum.
You may be expecting that since Nigeria is suffering an economic recession, the school may be suffering, but this is the opposite, as residents of Funke Zainab Usman Street always witness heavy gridlock whenever the school closes for the day.
